Privacy Policy

Deskbeam · Last updated October 24, 2026

Deskbeam connects your iPhone or iPad directly to your own Macs. We, the developer, never see your screen, your passwords or anything about you.

What we collect

Nothing. Deskbeam has no servers of its own, no accounts, no analytics, no tracking and no advertising.

Your Macs and passwords

The Macs you add (names, addresses, user names and settings) and small pictures of their screens are stored on your device. Passwords and SSH keys are stored in the iOS Keychain. If you turn on iCloud Sync, your Mac list and passwords are kept in sync across your devices through your iCloud Keychain, which Apple encrypts end to end.

Your screen and what you type

Deskbeam connects straight to the Mac you choose, over your network or through an SSH tunnel you set up. The picture of your Mac, your typing, pointer movements and clipboard travel only between your device and that Mac.

Local network

Deskbeam looks for Macs with Screen Sharing turned on on your local network so you don't have to type their addresses. This happens only on your device.

Tailscale

If you add a Tailscale API access token, Deskbeam sends it only to Tailscale (api.tailscale.com) to list the devices in your tailnet. The token stays in your Keychain. Tailscale's own privacy policy applies to that request.

Face ID

If you turn on Require Face ID, iOS checks your face; Deskbeam only learns whether it succeeded.

Backups

Daily backups of your Mac list (without passwords) are kept on your device. You can export one yourself from Settings › Backups.

Children

Deskbeam is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
